Adam and I met in 2017 when I answered a flatmates.com ad and moved in the share-house on Allen Street. We were good friends for 3 years before catching feelings. Not wanting to cause issues with other housemates, we had a lot of fun hiding our relationships and sneaking around the house. We had a proper first date 2 months in when we had a conversation on where it was all heading. I [Amelia],was in the process of moving to Scotland at this time and had to make a decision on Adam or Edinburgh. I choose Adam and so glad I did!
Adam ‘s first attempt to pop the question fell through. He originally planned to propose on a holiday to the Sunshine Coast. The day we were going to leave we went to the gym for a workout and Adam dislocated his knee doing a burpee. The next attempt wasn’t seamless, but he got there in the end. Adam drove us – very quickly – to the Redcliffe jetty. Iwasn’t aware at the time but he was 20minutes late for his own proposal and photographer was waiting. He’d also lost his notes on what to say and so quickly mumbled some gibberish I couldn’t make-out, some four letter words starting with F, and suddenly was on his knee. Of course it was a YES! Afterwards we went and did my favourite thing.. eat food. The perfect afternoon.
