April 2023 – What a Month

The Upcoming Wedding Season

Hey there, lovers! We hope you’re all doing well and are excited for the upcoming wedding season. We’ve had a busy month here at Calla Lily, so we decided to give you a bit of a recap on what we’ve been up to!

Courtney + Joel – April 1st

First up, we had the pleasure of shooting not one, but FIVE weddings this month. Courtney and Joel’s wedding in Wollongong was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the love in the air was palpable. They held the ceremony on a rooftop in the middle of Wollongong CBD. Needless to say, it was phenomenal. We captured so many amazing moments, from the first kiss to the dance floor shenanigans. Our first trip down to Wollongong was a blast!

Lisa + Joel – April 14th

Then, just a 2 weeks later, the upcoming wedding season continues and we headed up to Bimbadgen, Palmers Lane for Lisa and Joel’s wedding. We were thrilled to be a part of their special day, and it did not disappoint. The black-tie ceremony was intimate, and the reception was a non-stop party. Lisa looked gorgeous in a Bridal Secret dress, while Joel donned a CLEAN black suit. The day was perfect, the sunset was stunning and the dancefloor was off chains!

George + May – April 26th

To close out the month, we also had the pleasure of photographing George and May’s wedding at Long Reef. We got the call up just days before from our good friends over at Memento Collective. It was a stunning event, with breathtaking views of the ocean and gorgeous floral arrangements. The couple looked absolutely radiant, and we were thrilled to be there to capture their special day.

But it wasn’t all work and no play this month! In between all of our shoots, we took some time to celebrate a special birthday for Dyl’s partner Niamh. We won’t reveal too much, but let’s just say it involved a lot of cake, champagne and a really poor rendition of ‘Piano Man‘ on karaoke. We’re pretty sure we’re all still recovering from that one!

(how fucking cool is she)

Finally, we attended an open day with Hunter Events. It was an excellent opportunity to meet other vendors in the wedding industry and showcase our work to potential clients. We met some amazing people and made some great connections, and we can’t wait to see where they’ll take us.

All in all, it’s been a busy but rewarding month here at Calla Lily. We’re grateful to all of our clients who trust us to capture their special moments, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. If you’re planning a wedding or any other special event, we’d love to be a part of it. Contact us to learn more about our photography services, and let’s make some magic together!

Bring on the next upcoming wedding season!
